Tulia Amboseli was born from a deep love of wild places and a desire to share them with honesty and heart. Set in the open plains that frame Africa’s highest mountain, Tulia began as a dream to create a space where guests could slow down, reconnect, and feel the quiet power of Amboseli’s landscapes.
From the start, the vision was simple — to blend comfort with authenticity, celebrating Kenya’s natural beauty and cultural heritage without excess. The name Tulia, meaning to relax in Swahili, reflects this spirit of calm and connection.
Today, Tulia Amboseli continues to honour that founding philosophy — offering an experience rooted in place, shaped by community, and guided by a genuine respect for nature.
Tulia Amboseli is located in one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife regions ensuring that our guests get as close to the action as possible.
We’re committed to supporting conservation, education and empowerment in the reserves and communities we call home.
Whether it's game viewing, spotting Amboseli's iconic big elephants, climbing into the sky in a romantic balloon to watch the sun rise over Mount Kilimanjaro, or just relaxing in a pristine hideaway, we'll help you fulfil your wildest African dreams.
Each member of the Tulia team is committed and thrilled to be able to share our lives and experiences with our guests.
At Tulia Amboseli, we believe that responsible travel means caring for both people and place. From the beginning, our approach has focused on supporting the local community through employment, skills development, and sourcing responsibly.
We also protect the land and wildlife that make Amboseli extraordinary, ensuring that every guest experience leaves a positive mark. By empowering local people and safeguarding the environment, Tulia embodies a vision of tourism that gives back, nurtures growth, and honours the remarkable landscapes we call home.
We believe in supporting our local community to the fullest.
From the day we began building and later renovating our camp, we employed local fundis (tradesmen) and labourers. Our fundis regularly visit local communities and assist in maintaining water wells. We make vehicles available for local events (weddings, celebrations, community meetings) and to support health emergencies. We purchase produce weekly from the local market, supporting many small farms in the area.
Currently, we are working on a plan to bring internet/Wi-Fi to local schools, as well as an online learning programme to further students’ desire for education and growth to compete in the international marketplace!
Feel free to contact us by email, phone/WhatsApp or chat and we will be thrilled to work with you or your organisation to develop an effective programme that makes a difference in the lives of children in our area!
